Rooms

Ryotei Kawabun, Private Rooms

We have 7 large and small rooms for 2 to 20 people.
All rooms are furnished with windows. We can accommodate special decorations for celebrations, funerals, and other occasions; please inquire when making your reservation.

Akane

A room adorned with details such as gold-leaf Karahana patterning on the tenbukuro shelves, hanging smaller than the frontage to the tokowaki space, and triangular shelves reminiscent of the sword rack in the New Palace of Katsura Rikyu Imperial Villa. There is also a bronze washbasin in the garden, adored by Shugo Matsuo of the Matsuo school of tea ceremony.
For 2-8 guests

※ Priority given to guests with children or physical disabilities.
※ Due to limited room availability, specific rooms cannot be reserved.

Shinyotei

There is a tatami-style entrance edge near the window, and in front of it is a hall with a sheath. The wall and floor pillars separating the tokonoma and tokonoma are omitted, and the room is well balanced with the 10-tatami room. It can accommodate up to 14 people for a face-to-face ceremony, and up to 20 people for a formal dinner.

Yanagi(Yoyotei)

In this room, you can feel the leaves and branches of the gentle willow trees in the garden swaying in the wind outside the windows. Once serving as a temporary shelter in the Ansei great earthquakes, the room is also called the "Yoyotei" ("secondary use hall"), owing to the saying "muyō no yō"—finding use in a seemingly useless thing. Reconstructed after being lost in the fires of World War II.
